Please welcome founding member: Stacy Humphries!Stacy Humphries

Stacy, please tell us a little about yourself.

I am originally from New Jersey.  After graduating from Duke University and Harvard Law School, I moved to Houston in 1996 to begin my legal career. I worked first as an associate at Vinson & Elkins then as the Vice President of Legal Affairs for the Houston Rockets organization, which at that time included the Houston Comets and the development and opening of Toyota Center. After my first child was born, I wanted a more predictable work schedule and transitioned to legal recruiting. I’m now the President of Pye Legal Group, a legal search firm with a team of 12 recruiters who specialize in recruiting lawyers, paralegals, and contracts managers for positions with companies of all sizes. In my personal life, I am the mother of two teenaged boys, and I love exercise, travel, attending my sons’ games, and catching up with friends over a glass of wine.

How did you find out about Impact100 Houston?

I learned about Impact100 Houston from a founding Board member who posted about her involvement on LinkedIn.  After recently completing a ten-year term on the board of another Houston non-profit, I was looking to get involved with another charitable organization, and the collective giving model really struck me as interesting and impactful. I also was drawn to the  community of smart, accomplished women that Impact100 Houston is creating.

Out of the 5 focus areas, are there any you are especially passionate about?

Each of the five focus areas of Impact100 are important to me, but I’m especially passionate about addressing inequities in our community, whether those are education, health & wellness, or the every day experiences of Houston’s children and families.
