Impact100 Houston Kicks Off 2026 Grant Season with Annual Big Reveal
Impact100 Houston will announce its 2026 membership total and grant funding pool at the annual Big Reveal on Wednesday, April 8, at Good God, Nadine’s. The number, revealed live to members for the first time, determines how many $100,000 grants the organization will award to Houston-area nonprofits later this year.
The announcement falls during National Volunteer Appreciation Month. Impact100 Houston is 100% volunteer-run with zero paid staff. Every role, from grant review to event planning to financial oversight, is filled by volunteers. Every membership dollar contributed goes directly into the grant pool.
Since its founding in 2021, the organization has awarded 25 grants totaling more than $1 million to Houston-area nonprofits, including nine $100,000 grants. Past recipients include Angela House, Target Hunger, San Jose Clinic, Literacy Now, Houston reVision, RaiseUp Families, B.E.A.R., Covenant House Texas, and Santa Maria Hostel.
“Most people assume you need a large foundation with a professional staff to award $100,000 grants,” said Michele McGovern, president of Impact100 Houston. “We don’t have a single paid employee. What we have is a group of women who show up, do the work, and put every dollar into the community. That’s not a limitation. It’s the whole point.”
Impact100 Houston funds nonprofits in five focus areas: Arts, Culture and History; Education; Environment and Recreation; Family; and Health and Wellness. Members serve on volunteer committees to review grant applications and vote on which nonprofit finalists receive funding. One woman, one vote.
